The Research Group Combinatorial Image Analysis at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken, Germany, invites applications for
Ph.D. Positions (fully funded)
Discrete Structures in Image Analysis and Machine Learning
Highly motivated individuals with a very good first degree in mathematics, computer science or science are encouraged to apply.
A strong background in mathematics and some programming experience are required for these positions. Knowledge of discrete optimization is a plus. Experience in image analysis and machine learning is desirable but not required.
We encourage curiosity-driven research. Candidates define their own research project together with the group in the beginning of their Ph.D. program and specify its focus based on their interests during the second year. Excellent candidates will be given the opportunity to work as visiting researchers at Harvard University in their third year.
Applicants should send to firstname.lastname@example.org one email with the subject Ph.D. Position: Discrete Structures in Image Analysis and Machine Learning, containing the following application material, preferably in a single PDF document:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Transcripts of Master/Bachelor program
- List of publications (if applicable)
Applications are now open and are reviewed in the order in which they are received.
